To help my students effectively plan their 10 hour ‘exam’ time I have drawn up a question sheet that hopefully helps them to consider what they need to do.

This is a quick holding post to let everyone know that I will be producing my externally set tasks powerpoint again this year BUT it will be slightly later as my exams officer did not submit my estimated entries so I will not get access to the tasks online until the 1st Jan. I am planning to get the powerpoints completed for the 4th so will upload them then.
This year I will have an Art and Design one AND a photography one as this is the first year I have had a year 11 photography class.
To aid my year 10 and 11 classes with planning their mock exams this term I have created a set of RAG sheets for them to complete at the start and end of the lesson. I have found this helps them to take a few minutes to think about the lesson ahead of them and make a rough plan of action.
I find it is difficult when the students are all at various different stages when working on their mock or real exam prep to think about how to have useful starters and these sheets are a way for all students to settle down and make a quick start on their independent work.
Additionally on these sheets I have included a table for students working at and target grades.

WOW! What a term! In my mind I always feel like the Summer term should be the easiest, its the shortest and it should be the wind down… But it never is! What with the last rush to get work finished ready for marking, the Art Exhibition, exam marking and moderation, detailed reports to write for the year, not to mention end of term activity days out… So I have not had two minutes to spare to update my blog.
But now that I have finished for the summer I have set some time aside to upload a scheme of work that I have used for the last few years for my Year 10 classes in the Summer term. It is based on a visit to Brighton but you could adapt it for a visit to any local place of interest.

I wanted to share with you all some of my schemes of work so I have started with one that I have been using for a while now.
YR10 ART Altered Nature Term 1&2 2015
I use it as the first project for year 10 GCSE artists and have been tweaking it for the last few years and I feel I have now got it to a place where I am happy with it. It runs for a term and a half and results in a 3D ceramic outcome. I have added a few images to show some of the outcomes from the course of the project.
I have been updating my school Photography department website and it now has all the resources uploaded for the Year 10 Alive! Photography/Animation project.
This project lasted 6 weeks (I have three 1 hour sessions a week).
