Here are a few examples of some takeaway homework sheets that I have developed for Key Stage 3 Art and Design and Year 10 Photography classes.
I have found that these are a great way of setting homework as students are able to select a homework depending on how much time they have for it and what they feel like doing that day.
The Key Stage 3 sheets have a few more rules, such as students must select at least one hot or extra hot task a term etc.
The Key Stage 3 ones have been converted from Pages documents to Word Docs so I hope they work OK for you. The photography ones I can not convert so can be found in my Dropbox as Photoshop files should you wish to have the original editable versions.

To help the younger years in school begin to analyse artists and designers work I have made some wipeable mats with key questions on. We used this as a starter activity to get the ideas flowing which the students then used in the lesson to help them write up a short analysis piece on their artist.
Here is the mat in PowerPoint format: Artist Analysis Mat
I wanted to introduce year 7 to working with soft pastels and our theme is food so I found 3 different images of ice lollies and ice creams (I have 3 images of differing levels of difficulty ) for the pupils to select from. The pupils really enjoyed working with this media and they really grasped the different techniques I showed them.

Not really related to art and design but I thought people might be interested in this. Its Chinese New Year this Friday so for my whole school assembly I put together the following slideshow.

Here are just a few of the year 7’s clay tiles that are waiting to dry and be fired. They were very excited about working with clay and have really tried to follow their designs in their sketchbooks. I can’t wait to see them painted next week!
